Zomy has been taking pictures, and creating art, since the long-ago disposable camera days. Obsessed with textures and learning new ways to express emotion with vivid displays through her photography, Zomy continues to strive for those hidden "perfect" moments in life. Zomy captures everything from flowers to urban decay, and from the abstract to the quirky supernatural. She's been featured in galleries across New Jersey, New York, and California after getting her start at Gallery on Main. She has also collaborated with international artists such as Leo Noorpol of Denmark, N_of_49 of Canada, and BJA of New Zealand.

Says Zomy, “My art is in a constant state of evolution to inspire.”

Join us at Gallery on Main for a reception celebrating a retrospective exhibition of works by artist Brian McCormack, who passed away suddenly on March 9 of this year. Entitled Re-Strung, it features guitar sculptures uniquely and creatively made from repurposed found objects, which are also playable as musical instruments.

A musician as well as a visual artist, Brian McCormack had a long history and deep affection for musical instruments. He believed that an instrument not played is existentially tragic, due to the endless possibilities of its joyful potential. Says his wife Joan, “It is my hope that musicians, artists, and all those who view Brian's guitars will become inspired by his legacy of imaginative brilliance.”

Join us at Gallery on Main for an in-person reception celebrating an exhibition of paintings by our good friend, visionary painter Jan ten Broeke (1930–2019), whose “brush name” was Ten. See a selection of his paintings, mingle with other artists and art lovers, and enjoy a poetry reading by very special guest Paul Sohar. Drawing inspiration from nature, biology, and history, these elements are reflected in the abstract forms of Ten’s work. His paintings are characterized by biomorphic shapes and evolutionary forces, combining structures with forms typically found in nature. The fluidity of the shapes as they push and pull against each other give it a lifelike appearance of organisms from a prehistoric time.

Ten titled his work with his name and date of execution, instead of traditionally titling them because he believed traditional titles confuse the audiences’ perception of his paintings rather than clarifying it.

Ten’s work will be on view, and available for purchase, at Gallery on Main throughout May 2023.
